Welcome to the Candle and Soap Making Forum!
One of the truly great things about making candles and soap is sharing with other candle and soap makers. Have a question? A tip? Need to know where to find a particular ingredient or item? Chances are someone in the forum will have the answer. Plus, you'll get to meet people from all around the world who share the same interest in candles and soap.
You can enter as a "guest" first and just look around at the topics and discussion. To post questions or answers, you'll need to register - but it's easy and free. The FAQ below has information about registering, commercially-related posts and such. The only rules around here are:
  • Treat others as you would like to be treated - no flaming!
  • There's no such thing as a stupid question.

Chances are there will be someone here who 1) has the same question and 2) knows the answer! You can also email me directly at candleandsoap.guide@about.com - but keep in mind that I get a lot of mail and may not always be able to answer right away. The forum is really the best place for general soap and candle making questions.

FAQ

  1. Q. Do I have to register to use the forums?
    A. You can enter as a guest and read posts, but you must register before you can post or answer a post that's already there. Registering is quick, simple, and free. Please join us.
  2. Q. Are there any types of posts that are prohibited here?
    A. We will delete any spam or commercial posts. Please do not post to sell something or involve anyone in a money-making proposition. Flames or rude / insensitive remarks will be removed. Users who are disruptive may be gagged at the Guide's discretion.
  3. Q. May I promote my product or Web site here?
    A. As with most places on the Internet, you may make your URL part of your "signature" by typing it under your name at the end of your posts, but please do not place commercial posts on the forum. They will be considered spam and be deleted.
  4. Q. Why are candles and soap making lumped together into one forum? Shouldn't there be two separate forums?
    A. While candle and soap making are indeed different crafts, there are many areas (fragrances, aromatherapy, colorants, selling your wares) that overlap. Plus, many of the vendors that sell candle making supplies also sell soap supplies. If there is enough interest and traffic to justify two forums, we'll certainly consider it.
